From corporate role to entrepreneurship

Mark’s journey into entrepreneurship with Foster Property Group began in the middle of 2023, marking a significant transition from his previous corporate role. Despite initial reservations, Mark embraced the opportunity to expand his expertise and delve deeper into the intricacies of building homes. His experience in sales and marketing for a large building company provided invaluable insights, ultimately shaping his decision to venture into entrepreneurship. One of Mark's key insights is the importance of understanding the intricacies of the real estate process beyond sales pitches. His corporate background equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of land development, construction, and market dynamics, which he now applies to his own ventures.

Specialisation in new homes: A unique approach

Foster Property Group specialises in new homes, focusing primarily on house and land packages. Mark explains, “House & land, and new homes, will always be the core of the business because that’s where my expertise lies”.

Mark emphasises the importance of offering tailored solutions to clients, steering away from the one-size-fits-all approach. By focusing on new developments and customisation, Foster Property Group ensures that each client's unique needs are met, whether they are first home buyers, investors or downsizers.

Catering to first home buyers: Education and affordability

For first home buyers, navigating the real estate market can be overwhelming, especially in competitive markets like the Gold Coast. Mark understands the challenges and emphasises the importance of education and affordability, guiding clients through the process of budgeting and understanding their financial options to make informed decisions. He notes, “There’s just not enough education on why it’s just not rapidly evolving”, highlighting the need for greater awareness and policy interventions to address housing affordability issues. By advocating for greater transparency and managing expectations, Foster Property Groups empowers first home buyers to make informed decisions that align with their long-term goals.

Looking ahead: Growth and expansion

As Foster Property Group looks towards the future, Mark envisions growth and expansion across various divisions. Beyond specialising in new homes, the company plans to venture into the buyer's agency space and property management. Mark shares his vision, stating, "We'd like to add a couple of people to the team that can specialise in that buyer's agency space...and add property management to the scope as well."

By diversifying their services, Foster Property Group aims to cater to a broader range of clients and provide comprehensive solutions to their real estate needs. From regional projects in New South Wales to expanding across Queensland, Foster Property Group is poised to address the growing demand for housing while providing exceptional services to clients.

Mark's entrepreneurial journey serves as an inspiration, characterised by risk-taking, perseverance, and a continued pursuit of excellence. As Foster Property Group continues to evolve and expand, Mark remains committed to delivering unparalleled service and value to clients. With a clear vision for the future and a solid foundation in place, the company is poised for continued success in the dynamic real estate market.
